I have started growing many easy-growing herbs and plants in my apartment balcony and love using them now & then in my kitchen. The benefits of herbs are also mentioned in Ayurveda and in Indian cooking, they are used widely.

Some of the things you can easily grow are :

Tulsi

It has proved to be highly effective in protecting our body from various infections and diseases of the liver, skin, kidney, etc.

  • Natural Immunity Booster
  • Reduces Fever & Pain
  • Reduces Cold, Cough & Other Respiratory Disorders
  • Reduces Stress & Blood Pressure

Curry leaves

Curry leaves, an inevitable part of spicing up dishes, are not a part of mere garnishing.

They are rich in medicinal, and nutraceutical properties and even have cosmetic uses. Curry leaves and their distinct taste are well-known to Indians.

  • The leaves contain around 108 calories per 100 grams. Carbohydrates, energy, fiber, antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins are the key nutrients present in these leaves
  • They are high in minerals including calcium, phosphorus, zinc, iron, potassium, and magnesium, which are beneficial to your health.
  • Crush the in your chutney, mix them in your Vada’s, or garnish them in your sabzi.

Tips: If you want to feed your kids, you can use them as a paste.

Pudina

Mint is a popular ingredient in several foods and beverages, ranging from teas and alcoholic drinks to sauces, salads, and desserts.

While eating the plant offers some health benefits, research shows that several of mint’s health benefits come from applying it to the skin, and inhaling its aroma. Cools down your body in summer.
